ELVIN TING

Born in Singapore and with 25 years in the competitive aquatic sporting scene, Elvin’s passion for sports and health did not stop after he continued to be actively involved in various sporting activities after his graduation from his Bachelor Degree.

Following his retirement from three decades of competitive swimming and water polo, Elvin Ting amassed 14 years of corporate experience in key leadership positions at multinational organisations like Hewlett Packard and Diageo before dedicating himself to growing the multisport scene in Asia.

Believing that everyone deserves an opportunity to lead a better life, Elvin found his greater purpose in sports and created Orange Room – one of Asia's fastest growing sports marketing agencies with headquarters in Singapore and Shanghai. His objective is to empower the community with the knowledge and provide opportunities to help them lead a better and healthier life.

His wealth of corporate experience and unique market knowledge helped him to build a highly effective team. With this team, Elvin went on to successfully create iconic multisport events under the TRI-Factor brand across 8 countries in Asia Pacific that cumulates with a world championship in China.

During this time of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic where mass physical events are prohibited, Elvin pivoted and innovated new formats to motivate the community to stay fit. He launched the Run For Heroes 2020 national virtual run campaign – which won a Silver for ‘Best Consumer Event: Sports & Fitness’ at The Marketing Events Awards 2020 – and also Leaderboard, a hybrid format with both virtual and physical components.

Feeling that this is the right time to step up and do his part for the events industry – which has been hurt massively – Elvin has also been elected into the 42nd SACEOS Executive Committee in Singapore. He hopes to bring through the value-add of events by engaging communities, stakeholders and even regulators to help provide data-driven insights that will bring out the ultimate value of events.
